Tch, what the hell is that supposed to mean? ❝ Penguin Village? Seriously, what kind of name was that?! Hifumi had a questioning look on his face as he looked at the Sign that said Penguin Village ahead, and listed it’s small population. The place was smaller than Ginger Town. Well as long as he could find a place to stay and had some way to take a bath he’d be fine. His feet trudged down the dirt road on the way to the village. He walked past a small farm house with a picket fence. What the hell it was like he went back in time 70 years! He saw an old man sitting on a rocking chair with a pipe in his mouth with his hat shading his eyes as he napped. A glass of unfinished lemonade sitting on the small table beside him. And a little old lady in a sun hat workin on a garden. Then she looked up and smiled at him. “Why hello there dearie,” the old woman said, her glasses glinting from the sun. Hifumi rubbed the side of his neck, “Um…hi,” Hifumi wasn’t used to such kindness from a random stranger. “She looked to see the dirt and mud that caked Hifumi’s lower pant legs. “Oh, my, did you walk all the way here,” The old woman asked him in a worried tone. “Yeah, the last city I was in before here was West City, I was just wondering if the Village have a hotel or anything, Also a place to wash my Clothes,” Hifumi asked the elderly woman. “Ehh nope we dun’ have anything that fancy to my knowledge but we do have a bed and breakfast, that has a washing and drying machine, It’s about 5 miles down the road it’s actually in the village” The old man who was on the porch was now awake, apparently roused from his slumber, he spoke with a thick accent that was hard too place. Hifumi smiled at that, it was better than camping out for another night. The old man then got up “Let me get my truck I’ll take you there,” the Old man said. “Nah’ you really don’t have to do that,” Hifumi said in the most polite way he could. But the old man was already ignoring him walking to the side of the farmhouse. “Don’t argue with him dearie it’s faster this way, plus you look like you could use a rest,” the old woman said calmly. Hifumi sighed before relenting, he wasn’t gonna argue against some free transportation. Then he heard a loud engine roar to life. An old truck chugged it’s way right next to Hifumi. “Welp, get in son,” the old farmer said. Hifumi Obliged easily by opening the old truck's door. Sitting in the passenger's seat. Hifumi then buckled his seatbelt. The old man nodded, “I’ll be back in a couple of hours, had some things to do in the village anyways,” the old man said to his wife. The old woman simply nodded and waved him off before getting back to her gardening. The old man pressed on the gas pedal and started driving down the dirt road. It was a little bumpy but not too bad all things considered. “So son, what’s a kid like you doing all the way out in the middle of nowhere,” the old man asked while keeping his eyes on the road. “Oh, just trying to raise some awareness for my hometowns Dojo, it’s about to go out of business, I owe a lot to the old geezer who runs the place,” Hifumi said bluntly. The farmer looked at him through his rearview mirror, “Is that so, just be careful son the world is a dangerous place, ain’t all flowers especially when your nowhere near civilization,” the old man said, giving Hifumi some advice. Hifumi just said “Alright,” before looking out the passenger seat window. They drove in silence for the rest of the way, which Hifumi appreciated. As they got into the village it was already night time the stars twinkling in the sky much brighter than they would in a city. Then the truck suddenly jolted to a stop, Hifumi roused out of the half asleep state he was in. “Here, ya’ are son, just remember what I said earlier and be careful,” the farmer said. Hifumi unbuckled his seatbelt getting out of the truck. Then gently closing the door to the old truck. “Yeah, yeah,” Hifumi nonchalantly said. “Thanks,” Hifumi said to the old man before waving him goodbye. The old farmer smiled before driving off to do who knows what. Then Hifumi saw a tall sign that said bed and breakfast. And a Diner, Hifumi’s stomach growled, food first then sleep. He walked into the diner, the electric open sign that sat in the window buzzing loudly and a little bell jingling as he opened the door. He then sat at one of the stools at the counter. @open ● PL: 2,632 ● WC: 825 Words ● TWC: 825 Words

Just like any respectable diner, this place did have really good coffee. Fresh brewed. No hint of burnt beans. Strong. No other flavors like caramel or nuts. Just plain ordinary coffee. A simple brew for simple people that live simple lives here in Penguin Village.
Ana took another sip of her coffee, liberally sweetened with sugar. It's warmth hit the spot. She had a half eaten apple pie sitting on the plate in front of her. Her dessert after a big meal of a blt sandwich and french fries. It was a damn good sandwich too. Well constructed with plenty of bacon. They didn't try to scrimp on costs by giving only a few measly strips. The pie was the perfect topper to a big meal. Just what she needed after her rigorous training up at Mt. Paozu.
Training that was evident in the way that Ana was utterly disheveled and beat up. She looked like she had gone 6 rounds with mighty thor. Her clothes were torn, exposing the weighted gear underneath, and dirtied from repeated crashes into the mountains. In spite of her bedraggled appearance Ana was actually feeling pretty good. She felt like she was getting closer to mastering her control over Adrenaline Rush. She could maintain it even longer than before, and her control over her speed and power was getting tighter. All in all this put her in a pretty good mood in spite of all her bumps and bruises.
Now she just needed to figure out what she wanted to do and where she wanted to go next. Perhaps some more altitude training? No, wait, how much money did she have? Ana slipped her cellphone out of her jacket inside pocket. A few quick taps and she was pulling up her bank account and going over the numbers. She was running a little low... she wasn't in danger of not being able to afford her food, but it was getting a little too close to zero. That settled it then. Anastasia was going to have to pick up more work. Her latest training trip would have to wait. Ana took another bite of her pie and wondered which city she should go to, to find a fighting ring when she felt a strong power level enter the room. It was just under her own level, but not by much. Ana turned to look over her shoulder at the newcomer. It seemed to be a young man. He was deceptively thin for some one of his strength, with hair a curious mix of black and gold. Was it naturally that color? Ana cocked her head taking in the man's stride, the way he carried himself, and other minute details. He didn't move with the battle readiness of a trained soldier, but he obviously practiced some form of combat to be as strong as he was.
Ana briefly debated going over and challenging him to a match, but then discarded the idea. It would be rude to just walk up to a total stranger and ask for a fight. This wasn't the pits or her street fights. Never mind that she had done just that previously with the young man she had met at the junk yard, Maki. Plus, she was fatigued and sore from her transformation training. Anastasia could fight if she had to. But in this moment she wouldn't fight her best, and what point was there to challenge some one as a test of your skills if you weren't at your best?
Decision made, Ana turned back to her apple pie and continued eating. Penguin Village probably didn't have any fighting pits or street fights. The place was small if not down right quaint. Of course looks can be deceiving. Still, Ana figured her best bet would be to go back to East City. There she knew she'd find work at least. Some one always looking for a fight, street or pit. She might as well get her sleep here and leave in the morning.

Tch, what the hell is that supposed to mean? ❝ Hifumi waited where he sat for a second; he could've sworn someone was looking at him. He then shrugged it off. It must have been his imagination. The waitress then passed by, handing him the restaurant menu. He looked through it for like 30 seconds before he decided what he wanted. “I’ll have one homemade pot pie, and a root beer soda,” Hifumi ordered the waitress, nodding before yelling the order to the cook in the back. Causing Hifumi’s ear to ring a little bit. While waiting for his meal he looked around the restaurant nobody in here really caught his interest, then he saw a black haired woman, neat, but her clothing were more messy than his, though since it was impolite to stare so he went back to twiddling his thumbs waiting for his meal. Hifumi let out a quick “thank you,” to the waitress. Before devouring his meal god that was good, he had been mainly eating nothing but stuff. He's hunted on the road here, he even ate bear meat once, and it was okay, but kind of rubbery. But this was good. It's been a while since he’s had a proper meal. And in like two minutes the large pot pie was gone, he grabbed some napkins from the dispenser on the table. He then wiped off his face making sure to get off anything he might have gotten on it during eating. He then tore off one end of paper off the straw blowing into the end causing the wrapper to fly off. He then chugged down the root beer. And finished it pretty quickly. “Bill, Please,” the young man said, raising his hand up to get the attention of the waitress. She placed the bill on the counter, He then whipped his wallet out of his pocket, whoa that was cheaper than getting a nosebleed! He was so used to the more expensive prices in Ginger Town. Heh, this place wasn’t too bad. He then Pulled out the necessary Zeni of his wallet paying for it. He then put his wallet back in his pocket. Before standing up belly full enough for now. He then made his way towards the front door of the restaurant. Walking outside the bell on the door jingling as he did so. He then grunted. He did a few stretches now that he ate heading towards the bed and breakfast, and entering it. He pushed it open and the clerk waved to him. “Oh, Uh..hi I was wondering if you had any rooms?” Hifumi asked the clerk. The young woman smiled, “Yep sure do, don’t get many visitors out this far Ma will be happy to have someone to cook breakfast for in the morning,” she then handed him a key to his room. He then walked towards his room. Then he saw a labeled room that said laundry room. He smiled, walking into the room, he dropped a small backpack that he was wearing, pulling a clean set of pajamas and underwear out of it, getting changed in an instant. He then put his clothes in one of the three washing machines in the room. Now to wait for the cycle to finish, then put his clothes in the dryer, and then he could go to bed. “Ugh this is going to be a long night,” Hifumi said to himself in a tired tone.
